Troubled Times 2022

I created the first 5x7 version of Troubled Times in 2016, as a reflection on the mounting racial tensions across the country. It was purchased by a collector of landscapes in 2018. In 2020 I created, on commission, two new versions of the same theme,  one 5x7 and one 10x14.  My client chose the larger one, and the smaller one was immediately snapped up by another buyer. Since the intervening two years have seen still more unrest, and still more violence, it seemed fitting to take up the theme once again.
